okay last human geo blog
I liked how all of our discussions weren't planned but we all just felt like talking so the discussions were more meaningful.
I didn't like the debate at all and I think we should never ever do one again. but if we do, I would like someone to call on me please. I feel like the same people were getting called on multiple times and some people who wanted to speak didn't get to at all, and that's not really fair.

today we underlined a few things in a packet. these things were like how many people of a certain religion are in specific areas of the world. for instance, most of the world's Hindus live in India. my friend kisha moved from India when she was a baby, and she's Hindu. I was interested so I tried asking her about it but apparently she didn't even know they had a religion. I really don't remember much from class today. we got our exam scores back and I got an A but that doesn't sound right.

hi welcome to my blog. its 2019 and I promised I wouldn't miss a single day of blogs. I took a couple melatonin tablets so im really tired and out of it but im going to do this best I can. in class we talked about a really teeny baby and a big baby. 11 pounds big baby. that's a lot of baby. that's what the priest who baptized my little cousin said when he saw him. "that's a lot of baby!!!" anyway we spent most of class talking about question two from last night's blog, the one about Martin Luther and why he didn't agree with indulgences. im the "designated Lutheran" or "expert Lutheran" or something like that so I gave a lot of information I learned in confirmation class. I felt really good because I never know anything about anything but for once we were talking about a topic that I knew more of than most people. we talked about some of the differences between Lutheran churches and catholic churches.

Do some independent research, and in your own words
describe the practice of indulgences.
Why do you think this made Martin Luther object to indulgences?
Please note where your research led you.

Indulgences is when members of the Catholic church would pay or donate money to the church in order to get their loved ones out of purgatory. Since there was no way to know whether they were in purgatory or not, you had to take the priest's word for it and he would tell you how much you have to pay. Martin Luther objected this practice for a few reasons. First, there was no mention of purgatory in the Bible. But at this time, many people couldn't speak or read the language in which the Bible was written, because the Catholic church read from a Latin translation. Each person interpreted it however their priest did, because he was the only one educated in that language. Another reason he didn't agree with indulgences was because, like I said, they took the priest's word on how much they owe. There was a lot of corruption in the Catholic church at the time, and many priests just wanted money.

The Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca is called the Hajj.
Describe the details of the Hajj, and include a photo of a Hajj in your blog.

The Hajj happens during the last month of the Islamic year, and all Muslims are supposed to go at least once in their life unless they physically or financially can't. The Hajj is a trip to Mecca, a crucial city for the Islamic religion, located in Saudi Arabia. The Hajj is the fifth of the pillars of Islam. If someone is unable to take this trip, a relative or friend can be appointed to go in their place.
