Socrates 9/13/18

Today we learned that all of Socrates' organs shut down because when they killed him, they used hemlock tea which is extremely poisonous. He was sentenced to death for corrupting the youth and talking against the gods. The vote was really close, so some of the men in the jury asked the jail worker if they could let him go, and he said yes. When they went to tell Socrates he could escape, he refused because he believed in Athens' justice system. When we did the vote in class, more than 1/3 of the people voted to kill Socrates.
